I've just bought a Seat Ibiza 2011 1.2 TDi Ecomotive as my personal car, was sold as non runner due to immobilizer problem. I thought be not too difficult problem and bought the car. The seller assured me he had not tampered, remap attempt ect, (although humans do tend to lie a lot to get rid of an item they deem to be broken) although TBH I'm more inclined to believe someones been meddling with things they know nothing about. Got the car home and scanned with VCDS, and came DTC 16239 - Engine Control Module Incorrectly Coded. Looks to be the main problem, although a few other DTC's are stored, but now cleared those. How do i go about troubleshooting and rectifying? Main problem is this: Weird symbols for ECM serial number and all zeros for coding, I did look in VCDS engine, then used long coding helper to select cars params/bytes, after click do it, i get: Error 31, Out of Range.
A great member here gave me some advice, which I'm not doubting at all, saying this could probably resolved via online ODIS, but I had a member on another forum where I also asked about this issue, PM me saying ODIS would not fix this, saying that ODIS couldn't resolve this possibly. I trust the member from this great forum more than a random stranger PM me, but it said some confusion on how to proceed, so I'd like if someone could give a definite answer before I try and purchase a 5054A used original once located and pay someone to remote online ODIS if it was gonna be a fruitless venture. And what are my options other than dealer robbery, ie what tools needed, and I could try and find someone here in UK?
