Hi there Professionals!
Have a Phaeton V10 here.
Its smoking pretty dense when going on 3/4 to FULL throttle.
Smoke is 100% coming from too much unburnt fuel.
Its a dark smoke and smells like diesel.
Oil consumption is pretty low, so i don't think its burning a lot of oil.
Boost is building up good and constant, not reaching below/above boost limiter. Turbos seems to be ok to me then?
Air Mass: When smoking its pretty low to its set point. Eg. 600-700mg/h out of 1150mg/h. But Boost is good!
The air filters were pretty shit. I changed them, but no change in the smoking habits.
Changed both Air-mass-sensors (LMM) with used ones (same number).
I cant read ECU with Kess, as i first thought it just has a shit software running. Kess can't login to ECU for a read at all via OBD.
Well what can be here?
It seems that there is coming more smoke out of the left exhaust, but i think the exhaust is x-piped anyway, but the left bank is producing the smoke i guess (don't know for sure), but i am 70% convinced.
EGR's: i checked them only via sight (did not have a vacuum pump ready) + I unplugged the gaskets and golf-tee'd them. Still the same smoke.
Anyone has any tips for further diagnosis or repair?
Cheers.
