VW Passat 2012 TDi ECM Change

Just wondering whats the procedure to change ECM on that car, its a EDC17C54.
I would like to install second hand one from scrap yard.
I have a FVDI and a Galletto 3 clone, are those tools able to perform that task and if yes whats the procedure to do that?
Let me know please.

VW Caddy 2010 2.0 SDi Speed Limiter Removal [SOLVED!]

I need to remove speed limiter on a Caddy Van, 2.0 diesel engine code BST 2010.

Is it possible to do it with VCDS, and if so what access code would I use?

I know sometimes VCDS will only let you reduce speed but not up, but I know that's on a EDC15, this is a EDC16.

As a last resort I can use BDM function, but rather do it OBD!

Or is there a way to do it using ODIS if I use a certain access code?

VW Passat 2012 2.0 CR Broken EGR Cooler

On my 2012 Passat B7 140HP, 2.0 CR the EGR cooler had a water leak in the gas re circulation system. It was replaced but I'm not sure if this is a construction problem or it was generated by another part. The auxiliary electrical water pump has an irregular sound, I want to change it but I'm not sure if it can be the cause of the EGR damage. In it's case I suspect only mechanical problem because there aren't any errors neither on the cluster instrument nor on VAG-COM.
I am also concerned about the DPF because of the water which was exhausted for 10-20 km till I arrived in the service.
Can this be a problem for other parts of the engine?

Hi, I need your help.
Good friend of mine and customer has 2003 Skoda Super 1.9 TDI PD AWX.
For the last 10 years I'm the only mechanic who look after this car. So far was so good. smile2
3 days ago I did full service on this car because car was going for MOT test including fuel filter, I replaced also thermostat because car heated up only up to 60C, and changed also coolant temperature sensor G62 (came up during diagnostic), and before I replaced it car for long time kept high revs on idle about 1200-1300 rpm. After that I gave it good blast on motorway.
After all that work done car looks and drove perfect, didn't find anything wrong with it.
Today customer back to me after MOT test with bad news that car didn't pass it because fail emission test.
On the MOT report says:
Smoke 4.220/m where the limit for this car is: 3.00/m.
Last year this car has smoke 1.700/m, so what happened?????

Diagnostic does not show any faults, injectors looks fine, so where is the problem?????

Audi A4 2002 1.8T Multitronic Flashing [SOLVED!]

Hello and good day AP. I have a problem with a Multitronic ECU.

I had a control unit with the codes F125 and G125. I removed the control unit to the car and talked to the costumer about getting a new one or send it to repair. (I didn't knew the Ghost Rider technique to repair it). So it passed a year, and finally the costumer decided to not repair the car and I bought it.

So I checked in internet for a control module. And I bought one that was supposed in OK order.
But after I installed it I got F125 codes and that the control unit is not compatible with the power output of the engine.

So today I repaired the module (I haven't installed yet) But hopefully it works okay.
But about the code of the power output, so my question is:
Is there a way to re flash it with the correct software so I can make use of the car?

The vehicle details:
Audi A4
WAUJC58E32A203922
2002 1.8T

Engine code: AMB
Gearbox code: FSE

This Part Number from ETKA is 01J 927 156 CQ and is the same number of my control unit.

Fault codes:
17090 Multifunction Switch F125 Implausible signal sporadic
18031 Can bus no communication sporadic
18226 Pressure control valve 2 -N216 Electrical fault
18249 Engine/gearbox variants do not match

I believe that my fault codes about the N216 and F125 will be solved. But hopefully there is a way to flash it. I have a good quality VAS5054.

VW Polo 9N 1.2 Oil Level Sensor Issue

What i am missing here folks?
Polo 9N 1.2 3 cylinder engine with level sensor not on sump, but next to crankshaft pulley... every 100 km, yellow low oil level lights on, no faults.
Oil level (dipstick topped up) if hood opens and closes once lights go out for another 100km...
Things checked and tried:
2nd hand level sensor
Hood switch checked (opens and closes through measuring block)
Wiring to instrument (12v+, earth and good clean signal wire to cluster)
2nd hand instrument cluster...

Any thoughts?

Audi A6 2013 Steering Issue

Hi!
I have problem with steering light on Audi A6 4G after battery was partially discharged and brought the red steering light on the dash while was in the body shop for a scratch repair! I have done basic setting for steering end stops and is OK but there is a fault only in 44 Steering Assist (J500) C10AC 07 Mechanical Failure which i don't think so because i personally parked the car and not any faults on the car and even now the steering works perfect (light) just the red steering light on!

Recording to VCDS in here :

Enter the code shown in the pop-up balloon to enable the basic setting.
[Do it!]
[Basic Settings - 04]
Select Resetting of learned values for steering assistance from the drop-down menu
[Go]
When Finished Correctly or similar is shown click [Stop]
[Done, Go Back]
[Close Controller, Go Back - 06]

But i can not reset after Resetting of learned values for steering assistance when i click on GO and says error N/A one or tree code number required?
There is a window to put the code! I don't know the code!
Please help!

VAG Glow Plug Light Flashing

After I changed the EGR and its coolant pump, everything was ok for 200km, and now I was warned two times by the glow plug led, the car had a lack of power, but after restart everything come back to normal. A scan with VCDS found 3 errors:

The errors are from the new parts and I'm not sure what means "Intermittent - Not Confirmed"...

VW Bora MK4 2003 1.9 TDi Immo Issue [SOLVED!]

Lads i have done work on a customers car six weeks ago. He left the car outside my place and only came back today to collect it as his father had health problems and he was over seas seeing him.
Since then the battery had drained and died and when he tried to jump start it (after i told him not to do) the immo is stopping the car from starting.
As I'm new to this stuff what do i need to do to get it started? I use a Launch x431 (updated to 2015) and fault was immo stopping start.
I'm not sure if my Launch is up to fixing this, if you can point me in the right direction please or will it need to go to the VW stealership?

I have try to code it with a login code 09555 and coding code 04255 but it wont accept that code.

VW Passat B6 Strange Immo Issue

Hey guys!

I had strange case with Passat. Steering wheel lamp blinked. Car didn't start because engine was blocked by immo. I read DTC's and clear them.
After that car starts normal... what could it be? Just in case i switched immo off. Here is scan log from VCDS.

VW Passat B7 2.0D CFFB Starting Issue

Sometimes when I start the engine the start is difficult seems to have air bubbles in the fuel system, has a metalic sound for some seconds. I changed the EGR because of its broken cooler, the auxiliary water pump and the engine oil (Castrol 5w30 now and Shell before). On VCDS I have no DTCs but I'm not sure about some values:

052 Charge air pressure specified value 1053 hPa
053 Charge air pressure; actual value 951 hPa
143 Fuel high pressure; actual value 351500 hPa
147 Fuel Pressure Regulator Valve 16.41 %
184 Injection amount deviation cylinder 1 -0.52 mg/stroke
185 Injection amount deviation cylinder 2 0.79 mg/stroke
186 Injection amount deviation cylinder 3 -0.46 mg/stroke

The engine noise is the same everyday at first start but the fuel with air behavior appears once or twice per month.

Audi TT 2010 Clear Error Codes Issue [NOT SOLVED!]

Hi, I have Audi after crash car was repaired and now left only problem whit engine ECU.
I change gateway module and central electronic old ones was smashed i coded and everything works well apart engine ECU.
Car stars and accelerate no problem just glow plug light flash and engine fault light on all time.
I have 18 error codes and cant clear non of them, it looks like ECU is blocked.

P067000 glow plug module
P263200 fuel pump
P062700 fuel pump
P300300 low heat output
P010400 mass air meter who is error show then i disconnect and connect air mass meter no i cant clear.
...And so on, maybe somebody have any idea?

VW Golf 1K 2004 1.4 High Curent Consumption

Hello,
I have a 2004 Golf 1K, 1.4 petrol with high current consumption issue.
The measured current is at 200 - 250 ma in stand-by.
If the SC15 is unplugged then the current in stand-by drop at 100-110 ma.
At every 10-12 minutes I can see a spike at 800 ma for a 10-15 seconds, then after 40-50 minutes the consumption drop at .006 a.
Is normal this stand-by mode for Golf 1K or is a safety mode for J519?
Someone can help me to find VW TSB 2016076?

Audi S6 2007 SAI Readiness Issue [NOT SOLVED!]

Trying to set SAI readiness on this 5.2 V10. I'm using VCDS, I can check readiness but the button for "set readiness" is shadowed out. If I go to basic settings and group 77 the label file says redir fail, and I when I click the "on" button nothing happens. I also have ODIS but have no experience with it yet, and I'm not sure if It will clear the codes when I exit and lose the other readiness if I try it. Yes, I'm chicken!

Skoda Octavia 2007 1.9 TDi Camshaft Sensor Implausible Signal

2007, Sales type 1Z3164, Engine Code BXE, Transmission Code JCR

I have been helping another workshop to fix a strange fault on a Octavia taxi with a implausible signal on a camshaft sensor.

If you look at the scan, ignore the no signal fault, that was caused by a wiring issue which I fixed for them.

At the moment now, it's really poor starting in the morning and the code relating to cam sensor is implausible.

1. Timing has been checked.
2. Cam sensor replaced.
3. I repaired the wiring to cam sensor for them because of no signal, so now it is just a implausible signal.
4. All the wiring relating to cam sensor has been check, all OK.
5. Suspected ECU, so another ECU has been fitted. Same.
6. I suggested electrical interference because I scoped the signal and observed an anomaly as though it was getting triggered by something else.
7. Soooooo, I made a separate loom from the sensor to ECU ruling out a loom and interference issue. Same fault.
8. Cam pulley has been replaced and has the crankshaft sensor. No wear on any pulleys.
9. I suggested to him there must be some sort of interference from another sensor within ECU, so thought maybe an injector fault.
Told him to remove rocker cover and one by one disconnect an injector and start the car and see if the code clears, just the same. headbang

So in case I have over looked an obvious issue, any ideas or suggestions? mmm

If you want to see the scope trace, I'll have to get him to bring the car in because I didn't save it.
Or I'll draw what the anomaly looks like, you will see what I mean. bigsmile

VW Golf 7 2014 Fuel Level Sensor Fault

Hi guys, have a Golf MK7 2014 R was perfectly fine until the fuel gauge just decided to stop working.

The faults are B103E - Fuel level 1 resistance too high and B1058 - Fuel level 2 resistance 2 high

So far the sender units in both sides of tanks have been changed with new ones the fuel pump has been changed as well as the control unit near the tank.

All fuses been checked, a continuity test from both sender units is ok and from sender unit to the clocks is also ok, any suggestions?

Audi A4 2001 1.6 Engine Future Functionality After Semi Repair [SOLVED!]

Its about an Audi A4, 8E2, 2001, 1595, ALZ, 75kW. Client came in garage yesterday with this car telling me that oil is contaminated with antifreeze. When I check he have right, so we decide to remove the cylinder head and check what is happened there. I mention that engine work bad and check engine led is lighting, but I not wonder knowing the problem. After I remove cylinder head I have a bad surprise meaning that only piston Nr. 2 is at right position (OT), all other are in different position ie between 2 to 4mm below OT. My conclusion is that there were problems with water in head of pistons and rods are distorted. At that moment client told me that one time morning wen he start engine it heart a big noise but engine start. Now the problem is that client wife is in hospital with big problems and he wish to fix somehow the car and sell it to have money for wife for recovery. So he insist to replace head gasket, repairing cylinder head, and leave rods like they are. I refuse to do this job, but I wish ask you what you think, if I follow client wish, will this engine work properly? My opinion is that will not work ok but I wait your opinions too.

VW Golf 5 2004 BKD Engine Overboost Trouble

I wonder if anyone can advise he how to locate a problem i've had on my motor for the last few months.
Its a Golf 5, 2004 reg, I have been troubled by overboost on a incline 4th 5th 6th gear, now I have read plenty regarding this prior to posting, i've fitted a recon turbo (still overboost intermittent) and checked vacuum pipes for splits, chaffs ect, checked ic pipework for leaks.
All looks as it should, checked actuator with vacuum, checked wiring for chaffs ect and vnt lever does seem it has smooth full range of movement, no smoke from car, no eml, I am unsure if the car has been mapped by previous owner or if EGR is mapped out too, although the EGR + cooler ect is still in situ.
I've attached to this post the map i've read from the car with MPPS and wonder if someone would be willing to take a look to see if there is anything within the map causing this, and if the EGR is working on the car or is indeed mapped out. As I'm now running out of ideas to rectifying this problem.
