Wonder if anyone can advise.
Today i was replacing front springs on my 2013 Audi A3 2.0 TDi S-Line, so have purchased correct springs, stripped the passenger side 1st, upon removal, the snapped spring also took out top mount bearing, so went and purchased to proceed, now here's come my issue. After removing the top mount and spring, realized quickly the replacement springs are much shorter than i removed, and putting new spring on can just drop it on damper, put top mount on without any compression, Image may be NSFW.

in fact can shake the spring in position like a cocktail, so i thought wonder if i was in fact sent wrong springs. So went to purchase another set of fronts at local motor factor to be sure (i will take these back as unused Image may be NSFW.

) and they were exactly same as 1st purchase, so then started wondering if dampers were correct? Part number on those is 5O0 413 023 DB, i attach pics (pic of damper and springs show length difference, and the loose spring has 1/2 a coil snapped, and still a fair bit longer). But was also wondering if it could be case that someone has fitted wrong non S-Line springs and ruined shocks (if they are indeed correct shocks for my car) and the wrong springs has overtime over extended them or simply totally wrong shock absorbers . If that is even possible, car always seemed to sit a little higher at front, but i personally thought was rear sitting low, so previously changed dampers and springs at rear, but it was exactly the same ride height there at rear afterwards.
