Vw Tiguan ecu read and write

Hi!
I need to remove flaps and remap ecu on Vw Tiguan 2008 2.0 l CBAB edc17c14 ecu but I dont know if this ecu is write protected!Alien TEch in Help manual says that this ecu's are write protected starting from later 2009 year and use it on own risk.I read it fine but want to find out is it safe to write through OBD2 as some need to be writen in boot mode and TPO off?
